BOYS U17 RANGERS (2008/2009)

Originally referred to as Tier 2, BC Soccer, under the direction of Canada Soccer has established the Competitive Pathway.

At WIA, our Competitive Pathway Program is designed to parallel BCSPL and follow the same standards of training and development as BCSPL teams. The primary focus of our program is to develop and support players wishing to pursue soccer at a post-secondary level while competing at the Provincial A-Cup level.

Players will train 3 times a week and compete in the League on Vancouver Island. The goal for the team is to qualify for the Canada Soccer National Championships. The team will also attend college showcases for players to be scouted by college and university coaches. College showcase rosters may include invited players outside of the Program.

Changes brought forward by BC Soccer to the BCSPL intake and exciting years and the need to foster a stronger pathway connecting youth to adult soccer have helped guide WIA’s program offerings. The U17 Competitive Program is part of WIA’s HP Pathway. WIA’s commitment to individual player development is key. Opportunities are created to meet players’ development needs at the appropriate time. Players in the HP Pathway may be permitted to the next level of competition throughout the season.
