Boys U13 Rangers

PLAYERS BORN 2012

WIA is excited to launch the new 2024/2025 Boys U13 BCSPL Pre-Intake program. The teams will be coached by our experienced Canada Soccer Youth and A-licensed coaches.

There will be a 3:1 training-to-game ratio throughout the 10-month program to meet the standards in the four areas of development: Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychosocial.

U13 PRE-BCSPL Teams will compete in the Lower Island Soccer League. 
There will be permitting opportunities for PRE-BCSPL players to the Competitive Pathway U14 games. There will also be additional 11v11 training games and opportunities to augment the 9v9 league play. 

The roster is built to compete in the LISA U13 league.

  • Training Block 1:  September 2024 – December 2024

    • Training session locations – UVIC + CML School
    • 2-3 Training sessions per week (Technical, Tactical)
      • 60-75 mins training sessions
      • Mon: 5:30 – 6:30 pm: UVIC
      • Wed: 6:00 – 7:15 pm:  CML Turf
      • Fri: 5:30 – 6:45 pm: UVIC/CML Turf
    • 1x League game per week

    Training Block 2:  January 2025 –  March 2025

Physical Development: Primary development of aerobic power, acyclic speed and explosive strength.

Technical: Focus on speed of passing and receiving technique, ball controlling in small space, perception and quick execution of passing, overall ball control, receiving to turn at speed and finishing.

Psychosocial: Commitment to the team, increased concentration and self-control.

Tactical: Application of attacking and defending principles in SSG.

Social/Emotional: Cooperation, Communication, Respect and Discipline.

  1. Making passes, receiving to turn and finishing at speed under pressure
  2. Playing short passes at speed in small spaces.
  3. Coordination of tactical principles with teammates.
  4. Coordinate the counterattack and press in SSG.
  5. Show good fitness in mid/high demanding aerobic power practices.
  6. Showing good technique under pressure in fatigue.
