U13 PRE-COMPETITIVE PROGRAM
Program Overview
This program is designed to prepare 20-24 boys and 20-24 girls for higher levels of competition, beginning at the U14 level. It emphasizes the development of core physical, mental, technical, and tactical skills within a high-performance environment. Our approach is fully aligned with the Canada Soccer Grassroots Standards, maintaining a strong focus on both individual growth and team development.
Running from September to March, the program includes three weekly training sessions focused on:
- Technical
- Tactical development
- Physical conditioning
Athletic development is further supported through:
- Specialized sessions with Speed Mechanics
- A dedicated strength training program in partnership with the University of Victoria
All teams are led by highly qualified coaches, holding certifications such as the Canada Soccer Grassroots Certification, Children’s License, C License, Youth License, and A License, ensuring each player benefits from a top-tier developmental experience.
2025/2026 Season
On June 4, 2024, the BC Soccer Board of Directors passed a motion recommending that Westcastle continue its collaboration with BC Soccer to address key areas outlined in the BCSPL Implementation Plan. This ongoing engagement forms part of the evaluation process for potential entry into the BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL) in 2026.
As a result, Training Block 3—scheduled to run from April to June 2026—will operate either as a Pre-BCSPL Intake or a Pre-Competitive Intake, depending on the outcome of the BC Soccer Board’s decision.
