SKILL CENTRE – BU12
2025/2026: PLAYERS BORN 2014
The U12 Skill Centre provides a structured, challenging, and supportive environment where players continue to refine their technical skills and deepen their understanding of the game.
Following Canada Soccer’s Grassroots Standards, the program emphasizes individual player development while introducing more advanced concepts of tactical awareness, positioning, and decision-making. Players are encouraged to take creative risks, build confidence in possession, and learn how to adapt to the game’s demands.
Team formation continues to prioritize balanced competition and equitable playing time, ensuring that every player has the opportunity to learn, develop, and contribute. Rosters may remain fluid throughout the season to best support individual progress and maintain a positive, growth-centred environment.
Training sessions are led by certified coaches who challenge players to think, solve problems, and express themselves on the field.
Training Block 1:
Fall: September 3 – December 11, 2025
- Training session locations – UVIC
- 2 Training sessions per week (Technical and SSG incorporated)
- 1 Physical Literacy session per week
- Optional 3rd training session: Vancouver Island Prospects Academy delivered in partnership with Whitecaps FC
Training Block 2:
Winter: January 6 – March 11, 2026

- 2 Training sessions per week (Technical and SSG incorporated)
- 1 Physical Literacy session per week
