Player Development Program
Considered an integral part of the Canada Soccer Player Pathway (LTPD Stage 4), the Player Development Program (PDP) is defined by our National Association as the highest level of youth competition in Canada. Available only to National Youth Club Licence holders, it is the “best-on-best” Canada Soccer-aligned competition in our province starting at U14.
WIA’s strategic plan is to achieve the National Youth Club Licence. We will offer a Pre-Player Development Program (Pre-PDP) starting in the 2023/2024 season as part of WIA’s BCSPL Implementation Plan.
The Pre-PDP is designed to meet the needs of players with the desire to train and perform at the highest youth level possible.
Pre-PDP U13/U14 Teams
WIA is excited to launch the new U13/U14 Pre- PDP boys and girls teams that will compete in the LISA League this Fall. The teams will be coached by our Canada Soccer Youth National Licensed coaches. If the teams formed are competitive at the U14 level, then they will continue to play throughout the Spring of 2024 as a Tier 2 – U14 team.
Training sessions will be 3 times per week to mirror the BCSPL standards and focus on the four areas of development: Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychosocial.
