James Bay FC

James Bay Football Club is a community-based program offering new and emerging players between the ages of 2 and 10, an introduction to the game of soccer. The main goals of the program are to help eliminate barriers preventing participation in community programming, increase overall physical activity by developing good physical literacy and fundamental movement skills, and introduce more kids to the sport of soccer.

Program Overview

The Discovery Program sessions will be led by trained coaches from Westcastle International Academy’s Women and Men’s Residency programs and supervised by a Technical Lead.

  • Warm-Up Games
  • Station-based training (Physical Literacy, Game, Technical skill, Social Activity)
  • One adult family member is on the field with the player
  • 1v1 activities as a scrimmage
  • Players must wear t-shirts, shorts or tracksuit and cleats/runners
  • Shin guards are not required

Ages 4-5

  • Warm-Up Games
  • Station-based training (Physical Literacy, Game, Technical skill, Social Activity)
  • No adults allowed on the field outside of the coach
  • 3v3 activities following BCSA/CSA game model
  • Players must wear t-shirts, shorts or tracksuit and cleats/runners
  • Shin guards required for all players

Ages 6-7

  • 4v4 or 5v5 following BCSA/CSA game model

Summer Camp Registration

Location: Beacon Hill Park, Heywood Park

Week 1: July 11 – 15
Week 2: August 8 – 12

Players U6 – U11 (born 2012 to 2017)

-Time: 8:30 am – 12 pm
-Cost: $175 per week (includes GST)
-What to bring: Snacks and water, soccer clothing with shin guards and cleats or runners.

Players U3-U5 (born 2018 to 2020) – One-hour drop-in session

-Time: 9:30 – 10:30 am
-One adult family member/caregiver must be on the field with the player
-Cost: $25 per week
-What to bring: Water, soccer clothing with cleats or runners – shin guards are not required.
