Pathway to Pro – Competition
The Westcastle International Academy (WIA) U21 team competes in the Vancouver Island Men’s League during the winter and transitions to the Pacific Coast Soccer League in the spring.
Our roster features a dynamic mix of U21 players complemented by experienced “mental players” who bring essential competitive insight and strategy, ensuring our team remains physically formidable.
The team in the VISL and in the PCSL gives young players the experience playing against men in a competitive environment and, importantly, have regularly scheduled games. Getting time against men early on helps you to make the adjustment faster when you make the jump to pro.

“We need to develop individual players so every player within our academy has his own individual plan to make the steps needed to finally get to the very top. “We use our [academy] team more or less not to win games, but to try to develop as many individual players as possible .” –Eddie Mukahanana, Technical Director
