APPLICATIONS
WIA offers free ID camps for players interested in joining any of our programs. Players must complete an Application/Expression of Interest and attend an ID camp to be considered. The club may arrange for an individual assessment date if a player applies after the ID camps.
How It Works:
- ID camps are held in June, July, and August.
- After each camp session, WIA will send out rolling offers of admission.
- Player selection is based on commitment, psycho-social attributes, and skill level.
Selection Criteria:
- Commitment to the program: Your dedication to training, games, and team involvement.
- Psycho-social Qualities: Includes focus, attitude, coachability, concentration, creativity, decision-making, and motivation.
- Technical and physical skills: Assessment of your soccer abilities and fitness level.
WIA’s Philosophy on Player Placement
A comprehensive assessment of multiple factors determines player placement:
- Soccer Age: A combination of the player’s physical maturity, technical skills, and overall understanding of the game.
- Physical Development: Consideration of the player’s current stage of physical growth, which is naturally fluid and evolving.
- Team Dynamics: How a player fits within a team’s chemistry and needs.
- Biological Age: Players may be placed with their biological age group or in a different group based on their soccer age.
Our technical coaches will individually determine each player’s placement, ensuring the best fit for their development and the team.
